Visit the Killing Fields, a reminder of the Khmer Rouge regime that eliminated approximately a quarter of the country’s population. A panel of journalists will discuss working in a country where the Civil War is still considered a taboo subject. Meet with diplomats who can discuss the current regime under Prime Minister Hun Sen, himself a former Khmer Rouge officer and focus of corruption allegations. Conclude the program in Siem Reap, where political woes are overshadowed by the magnificent architectural accomplishments of the Angkorian period.
